Laugh
Jan 2, 2006

My mom and I laugh and the craziest things (she even laughs in her sleep according to Pops)...i.e. she fell and broke her arm, we laughed. She turns left when I say right, we laugh. My daddy doesn't get it :-)

Sit a Spell
Jan 3, 2006

As a young girl, my grandma would always tell me to slow down and visit. Now I find myself saying the same thing...Her living room was always welcoming, warm, and begging me to sit a spell...I hope this piece reflects that.

Behind the Scenes
Jan 5, 2006

I did 3 part jazzesque harmony on the outro of "Stupid" last night - now this track is like fusion cuisine - tasty.  My hubby laid some dirty guitar and it rocks. We sampled, "I Have A Dream", from my first CD for the intro of "Welcome to My World". The nearest and dearest will dig it. "Hope" has taken on a life of its own. It starts with me singing and playing the piano quietly, then I give the count - three, four and BAM- you are taken to another place. Stay tuned for more "behind the scenes" stuff...

Order of appearance...
Jan 10, 2006

Here are the 12 song titles for the new CD in random order; Welcome to My World, Problem With Me, Stupid, Tattooed Memory, Happy, I Belong to You, Inability, Hope, Oh My Lord, Failed to Notice, Even Though, and Second Thoughts. Struggling with getting just the right order. Maybe I should put them in a hat and draw names or alphabetize and see if anyone notices...

Miss Mix-a-Lot
Jan 25, 2006

We're done tracking...Bobby Hamrick Rocks on guitar!!! Now it's time to mix...and mix...and mix....like any good recipe. It's exciting to know these tunes are about to be released into the universe. I hope you want "seconds".

OTTO & Fabu
Feb 3, 2006

Nickname: A descriptive name added to or replacing the actual name of a person, place, or thing. 2 new nicknames were bestowed upon me in 2005. While recording in the studio on the new project, Cliff started to refer to me as OTTO - Over the Top Ondee. Fitting, eh?...This summer, one of my best friends (in TN) made up a song and dance called Ondee La Fabulousa. Now I answer to Fabu. I was tempted to call the new album OTTO or Fabu...for about 2 seconds.

EPK
Feb 6, 2006

We filmed the Electronic Press Kit interview on Saturday and it went very well. Talked about singing, writing, influences, inspiration, art, and the new CD. Hope to have it posted soon. Steve Sawyer is the man...

Viva Las Vegas!
Feb 14, 2006

Highlights: Saw "O" Cirque du Soleil in Vegas this weekend....so mesmerizing and beautiful that I cried. Dined at Wynn and the Eiffel Tower, danced at Rain, lounged at Ghost Bar, shopped till we dropped at the Forum Shops -Caesars so we hit the Oxygen Bar, rode the gondola and devoured gelato at the Venetian. I stood next to Pavarotti, his wax likeness that is.

Feb 18, 2006

I finished a new song this week entitled, "Let Me Be". The first line is..."let me be histrionic and wax poetic even if it makes you uncomfortable, let me be a tortured soul and speak of travail even when times are good". Autobiographical? Of course!! HA!

Rock on, MAMA!
Feb 21, 2006

This is my fave painting of my mom's (oil on canvas). It's spectacular in person! She will have a showing of her art pieces later this year. Will keep you posted on specifics.

Video Shoot
Mar 6, 2006

We shot the music video for "Welcome to My World" at a historical Bed and Breakfast. They have a Steinway Grand Piano!!! Little girl lost is the concept...Keiana (age 6) plays the Little Ondee.

Second Thoughts
Mar 28, 2006

In the Studio: As soon as Cliff heard this tune, he had a vision; a dark room, candles, a grand piano, and me pouring out my soul…We did it in only 2 takes. I will never forget it. This is truly a moving and elegant piece. Cliff’s expressive orchestral arrangement was the icing on the cake. Thanks, Clifee!!! I hope to shoot a video for this song next!

Round up the Troops!
Mar 30, 2006

The AMEDD STAR Talent Competition at Ft. Campbell was a blast. About 400 folks attended and cheered for their favorite competitor. I did my best Ryan Seacrest impersonation and performed, "I Have a Dream", gave away cds, and signed autographs. The gracious judges who gave of their time included recording artist, Eric Heatherly and songwriter, Chris Moore. It was a fun event that raised morale and showcased the musical talents of the military personnel and their families. Pictured is a plaque I was awarded.
